TOPIC: Living Right By The Word (Seeds Of Destiny 18 December 2024)
SCRIPTURE:
“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” – 2 Peter 1:4
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
To know the Word of God is to know the character of God.
Seeds of Destiny Devotional for Today – MESSAGE
The Word of God is the container of the character of God.
Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that the promises found in the Bible — the Word of God — have been given to us to enable us to partake in the Divine Nature, which is the Character of God.
This means that the Word of God reveals the character of God. To know the Word of God is to know His character. Conversely, to be disconnected from the Word of God is to be disconnected from the character of God.
The person or character of God is accessible through His Word, making the Word the easiest way to absorb and reflect the Character of God.
Why Do We Need Godly Character?
One significant reason is that character determines destiny.
Godly character is essential because it shapes our destiny in this life and in eternity.
For example, Cain had a bitter and hateful character, leading him to kill his brother, Abel. This act of bitterness brought a curse upon Cain, turning him into a vagabond and fugitive on the earth.
Additionally, there are accounts of people who had near-death experiences, claiming they saw righteous people like Abel in heaven but did not find Cain. This highlights the truth that your character determines your destiny.
The Word of God is a vital tool for building the character and nature of God in your life. To fulfill your destiny, you must maintain contact with the Word through consistent study and meditation.
REMEMBER THIS:
To know the Word of God is to know the character of God.
