Message for Today:
A sister once lived a reckless life during her school days, engaging in numerous abortions that led to her womb being irreparably damaged and ultimately removed. Later, she gave her life to Christ and devoted herself wholeheartedly to serving Him, believing that marriage and children were no longer in her future.
When a brother proposed to her, she transparently confessed her condition, expecting rejection. However, the brother insisted on marrying her, and to their amazement, God miraculously blessed them with four pregnancies. The Creator, in His infinite mercy, provided her with a new womb, demonstrating His power to give hope and restoration.
The genealogy of Jesus Christ in Matthew 1:3-6 highlights four women with questionable pasts, yet God redeemed them and used their stories for His glory:
- Rahab: Once a prostitute in Jericho, Rahab became part of Israel’s history when she embraced Jehovah and married Salmon, one of Joshua’s spies.
- Ruth: A Moabitess from a cursed lineage, Ruth’s faith and loyalty brought her into the lineage of Christ as the grandmother of King David.
- Thamar (Tamar): Despite her scandalous history with Judah, God turned her story around.
- Bathsheba: Known for her affair with King David, she became the mother of Solomon, one of Israel’s greatest kings.
This underscores the transformative power of Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17 assures us that those in Christ are made new. No matter your past, Jesus offers you a fresh start. His arms are open to embrace all who come to Him.
Beloved, never give up. Your new life in Christ has no limits. With God, the impossible becomes possible.
